Marian Riggins

Marian A. Riggins, 74, of Eldora died from natural causes on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 24 at the Emmanuel Reformed Church Cemetery in Belmond, Iowa. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 25 at the Eldora United Methodist Church. Their will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Emmanuel Reformed Church of Belmond. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of the arrangements.



Marian was born January 26, 1932 in Belmond, Iowa, daughter of Ben and Viola (Mennenga) Loats. She attended Pleasant #5 Country School near Belmond then graduated from Belmond High School in 1950. On November 11, 1950 she was united in marriage to James L. Riggins. Marian has lived in Eldora since 1952 and worked as office manager for Iowa Electric Power and Light for twenty years retiring in 1986.



Surviving is her husband, James; daughter, Catherine Roberts of Downers Grove, Illinois and her husband, Jeffery; grandchildren, Laura and Brian; and brothers, Fred Loats of Belmond and Kenneth (Marcy) Loats of Granville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by both parents.
