Margaret Everts, 85, of Aplington, Iowa, formerly of New Hartford, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Maple Manor Care Center in Aplington, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Parkersburg Christian Reformed Church, in Parkersburg, Iowa, with Pastor Rus Buersma. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2011, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at Parkersburg Christian Reformed Church, in Parkersburg, Iowa. A Memorial has been established.
Margaret was born November 26, 1925, to Jacob and Etjie (Van Westen) Westerman on a farm in Grundy County, Iowa. She was raised in the Pleasant Valley Township area and attended Pleasant Valley Township School #9.
On February 19, 1947, Margaret was united in marriage with Fred Raymond Everts at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa They lived and farmed in Butler County, Iowa most of their married life.
Margaret was a member of Parkersburg Christian Reformed Church, in Parkersburg, Iowa. She belonged to the Sunshine Circle of the church. Margaret loved to sew, work with crafts, and work in her garden especially with her flowers. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred on February 3, 2002, her parents, and one sister, Grace Meester.
Margaret is survived by two sons, Jim M. (Carmen) Everts, Stan D. (Carla) Everts both of New Hartford, Iowa; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brother, Jack Westerman.
