Marcia F. Gilliam, 52, of Dike, Iowa, died on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa.
Marcia was born September 24, 1953 in Grundy Center, Iowa, the daughter of Chris Edward and Esther Leona (Schmidt) Freese. She attended Dike Community School and graduated from there in 1971. She went on to attend and graduate from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. On April 22, 1989 Marcia was united in marriage to Roger Gilliam at the Dike United Methodist Church. Marcia was employed by the Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services and the Cedar Falls McDonald?s. She lived in the Des Moines area from 1979 to 1991 when she returned to Dike. She was a member of the Dike United Methodist Church, Evening Circle, Welcoming Committee, and Mind Menders.
She is survived by her son: Paul Christian Gilliam of Dike, Iowa; her parents: Chris and Esther Freese of Dike, Iowa; one brother: Keith and his wife Kavetta Freese of St. Louis, Missouri; and four sisters: Ardis and her husband Jon Gisleson of Floyd, Iowa, Sheryl and her husband Stuart Dusenberry of Atlantic, Iowa, Joan Freese and her husband Mark Gutzmer of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Kristin and her husband Ernie Batson of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roger Gilliam; and her grandparents; Tom and Helena Freese, and Renko and Henrietta Schmidt.
