Marcella Partridge

Marcella R. Jordening Partridge, of Ames, Iowa, formerly of Eldora, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Northcrest Community in Ames, Iowa. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora. Burial will follow at Eldora City Cemetery in Eldora. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. The family will direct all memorials to the Cancer Society and the Alzheimer's Association.

Marcella was born on January 22, 1927 in Plymouth, Nebraska, the daughter of Herman and Alvina Busch. She graduated from Plymouth High School in the Class of 1944. Marcella was united in marriage to Milton Jordening on September 10, 1944 in Plymouth, Nebraska. Together they welcomed two sons into their family. They farmed in southeast Nebraska and in 1956 they moved to the Eldora area where they farmed until their retirement in 1988. Shortly after retirement, Milton passed away on July 28, 1988.

Marcella was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora. She was ahead of her time in many ways. Marcella enjoyed yoga classes; she was a self-taught double entry bookkeeper for the farm business, and an active member of book clubs.

In 1993 Marcella married Dean Partridge of Collins, Iowa. They enjoyed 10 years together in Eldora until Dean's death in 2003. In 2004 Marcella moved to the Northcrest Community in Ames, Iowa where she lived until her death on Sunday.

Marcella is survived by her sons David (Donna) Jordening of Independence, Iowa and Steven (Joan) Jordening of Nevada, Iowa; granddaughter Julee Jordening of Denver, Colorado; brother Eugene (Delores) Busch of Plymouth, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews and cousins and 5 step-children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Milton Jordening and Dean Partridge; an infant daughter Carol and 12 brothers and sisters-in-law, siblings and spouses of her husband Milton; most recently Leona Jordening just one week earlier.
