Marcella Evelyn Creps, 99, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Valley View Specialty Care in Eldora. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, with a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow the funeral service at Eldora City Cemetery.
Marcella was born on November 7, 1918 in Tama, Iowa. She was the daughter of Dr. Charles C. Graham and Bertha M. (Sullivan) Graham. When she was a few weeks old she was brought to Wellsburg, Iowa, where the Grahams made their home. She attended Wellsburg schools and graduated from the Wellsburg High School in the class 1936. She attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Also what is now University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. Marcella was united in marriage to Harold Creps on September 29, 1940 at her parent’s home in Wellsburg, to this union were born two children. Marcella was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Eldora.
Marcella is survived by her son Charles (Roberta) Creps of Eldora, IA and daughter Sherry Marlowe of Le Claire, IA; grandchildren Dr. Megan (Dr. Josh) Baker of Phoenix, AZ, Dr. Andrea Marlowe of Baltimore, MD and Michael Marlowe of Bettendorf, IA; great-grandchildren Caden, Alayna and Cassandra Baker all of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold Creps; an infant brother and son-in-law Bruce Marlowe.
