Marcella Buhman

Marcella Buhman, age 90 of Ackley, formerly of Holland, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 12th at the Liberty Baptist Church in Dike, Iowa. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Dike. A visitation will be held Sunday, December 11th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Marcella was born May 17, 1921 in Tama County, Iowa to her parents William and Emma (Arp) Boldt. She attended school in Dinsdale, Iowa. She was united in marriage to John Buhman on July 24, 1941 in Tama County, Iowa. They welcomed four children into their family. Marcella assisted her husband on the family farm for over 55 years. She was a long-time member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Dike. Marcella will be missed and long remembered by her friends and family.

Marcella is survived by her children Margaret Long of Leawood, KS, David (Rebecca) Buhman of Ackley, IA and Marian Buhman of Grundy Center, IA; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John and daughter Mary Buhman.
