Mae Kruse, 92, of Holland, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit while under Care Initiatives Hospice. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 27th from 9:00 A.M. until time of the memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. Inurnment will be private.
Mae was born on May 15, 1920, in Holland, the daughter of Cornelius & Rena (Pruisner) Dirks. A lifelong Holland resident, Mae attended school in Holland, graduating with the Grundy Center High School class of 1938. On July 21, 1938, Mae was united in marriage to Clarence W. Kruse at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. The couple welcomed three children into their family, Roger, Marilee & Charles.
She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center and was very active in church, belonging to several of the church's organizations. Mae enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mae is survived by her sons Roger (Pat) Kruse of Homer, NE and Charles (Betty) Kruse of Holland, IA; 5 grandchildren JoEllen (Doug) Wical of Grundy Center, John Henze of Phoenix, AZ, Alison (Tom) Diffley of Mahtomedi, MN, Lori (Justin) Phillips of Wellsburg, IA and Laci (Jerod) Murra of Conrad, IA; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence; daughter and son-in-law Marilee & Art Henze; grandson Mitchel Kruse.
