Mable Crosser

March 9, 1916 — April 22, 2005

Mable Grace Crosser, 89, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, formerly of Eldora, Iowa, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, of natural causes. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 25, 2005, at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, with Pastor Jim Hartman officiating. Burial will follow at the Steamboat Rock Cemetery in Steamboat Rock. Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. A memorial fund has been established.



Mable was born March 9, 1916, in Steamboat Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Albert Paul and Edith Ellen (Calendar) Penelerick. She received her education in Steamboat Rock and graduated from high school there in 1933. On January 23, 1937, Mable was united in marriage to Fred W. Crosser in Hampton, Iowa. In 1940 they purchased a farm in Boone County and farmed there for four years. In 1945 they moved back to the Eldora area and bought 90 acres in Pleasant Township. Mable?s husband Fred died in 1967. In October 2002, Mable made the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center her home. Mable was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and she loved to crochet.

She is survived by one son Marlyn D. Crosser and his wife Pam of Whitten, Iowa; one daughter Nancy Teske and her husband Carroll of Fort Dodge, Iowa; eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; one brother Elwin L. Penelerick and his wife May of Everett, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fred in 1967; one son Warren Crosser on March 8, 2004; two granddaughters Jill Teske and Connie Crosser; one grandson Christopher Crosser; one great-grandchild; and five siblings in infancy.
