Lynn Holman

Lynn A. Holman, 69, of Reinbeck, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday January 28th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 29th at 10:30 AM at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck with Rev. Joel Love officiating. Per Lynn’s wishes, he was cremated and inurnment will be private. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, 310 East G Avenue, Grundy Center, Iowa 50638.

Lynn was born on March 7, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa, to his parents Albert & Margaret (Luloff) Holman. A lifelong Reinbeck resident, Lynn attended school in Reinbeck, graduating from Reinbeck High School in 1966. On June 4, 1966, Lynn was united in marriage to Joyce Folkerts at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Reinbeck. The couple welcomed 4 children into their family. Lynn began working at Pepsi in Waterloo and then began his career at John Deere in Waterloo. During a layoff, Lynn worked a short time at Pioneer Seed in Reinbeck and returned to John Deere, where he retired.

He loved woodworking, especially with oak, in which he built many pieces of furniture for his home. Lynn also enjoyed fishing and golfing. What brought the most joy to Lynn was his family and spending quality time with them. He leaves behind many family members who will miss him dearly.

Lynn is survived by his loving wife Joyce of Reinbeck, of 51 years; children Trevor (Angela) Holman of Denver, IA, Tracy (Jamie) Eiffler of Reinbeck, Todd (Kelly) Holman of LaPorte City, IA and Troy (Stephanie) Holman of Reinbeck; grandchildren Melissa & Nicholas Holman, Tyler & Paige Eiffler, Lexie, Bryce, Grace & Dylan Maloy and Luke & Leah Holman; aunt and uncle Eileen & Kenneth Richter. In death, he rejoins his parents and brother Gary Holman.
