Lucille Snow, 93, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 5, 2006, at Union Congregational United Church of Christ, in Reinbeck, with Pastor Joel Love officiating. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery in Reinbeck, Iowa. Visitation will be Thursday, May 4, 2006, at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., where there will also be a service by the Coinette Chapter #273 of the Order of the Eastern Star at 7:30 P.M. A memorial fund has been established.
Lucille was born July 25, 1912, in Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Ed and Minnie (Kuhl) Barfels. She graduated from Beaman High School with the Class of 1930. On June 22, 1935, Lucille was united in marriage to Harold Snow in Silvis, Illinois. After their marriage, Harold and Lucille farmed north of Reinbeck for forty-six years. After selling their farm, they moved to their home in Reinbeck in 1981. On May 22, 1983, Lucille's Husband Harold died, and she continued to make Reinbeck her home. Lucille enjoyed her family and friends. She had been an active member of the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck where she was involved with the Ladies Aid. She was also in the Merry Makers, and was a sixty-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Coinette Chapter #273, where she had held various offices.
She is survived by her son Dean Snow and his wife Penny of Reinbeck, Iowa; one daughter JoAnn Ehlers of Bettendorf, Iowa; one grandson Michael Ehlers and his wife Marlena of Bettendorf, Iowa; one granddaughter Kimberly Snow of Cedar Falls, Iowa; four great-grandchildren Michael Ehlers II, Azaria, Garrick and Adriana Ehlers of Bettendorf, Iowa; one sister-in-law Donnie Snow of Reinbeck, Iowa; cousins; many friends; and a life-long friend Ermal Ludemann of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Harold.
