Lucille Ann Abbas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend joined our Lord November 25, 2024. Lucille was under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice and passed away surrounded by loved ones at the age of 80 in the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of Lewis and Donna Mae (Hughes) Osborn born on March 31, 1944.

Lucille lived a life dedicated to family, service and community. She was joined in marriage to John Jerry Abbas on October 11, 1963, in Wellsburg, Iowa. Together they worked tirelessly on their dairy farm, which became a cornerstone of their family's legacy. Throughout her life, Lucille balanced commitments with grace, working as a Kitchen Manager at Casey's Pizza in Aplington, and returning to her nursing passion alongside her daughter-in-law Dailene, to later earn her CNA certification. Her compassionate nature shone through during her many years of service at Grundy Center Long Term Care and Arlington Place.

An energetic and devoted mother, Lucille, was always involved in her children’s lives. Serving as a Boy Scouts Den Mother and encouraging the passions and pursuits of her children as they grew. She also a found joy in a myriad of hobbies, particularly in raising White Persians kittens and Border Collie puppies, showcasing her nurturing spirit. Lucille cherished the time spent with her children teaching them everlasting life skills. Together, she and John created lasting memories on many family trips to Clear Lake and vacations to Washington to visit her daughter, Kayleen and her family.

Her commitment to community service was exemplified through her role in 4-H as a child. Growing her love for animals and learning many life lessons along the way. Later in life, Lucille became a dedicated volunteer for the Ladies Aide Society at the Second Christian Reformed Church. She spent many years contributing her talents and time passing her skills to the next generation.

Lucille leaves behind her loving husband, John Jerry and her children; Kenneth (Dailene) Abbas, Karen (Greg) Libenguth, Kayleen (Rick) Blair. Her siblings, Joyce Simpson, and Eileen Tesch. Eight cherished grandchildren; Kendall (Cathy Koch), Dalen (Jenna), Trent, Alexis, Katarina (Bradey Wyles), Robbie, Kendrick, and Kari.
