Lucile R. Weiss, 98, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Sunday, January 1, 2006,
at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, Iowa. Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck, Iowa, with Pastor Randy McGrady-Beach officiating. Private family burial will be at the Reinbeck Cemetery in Reinbeck. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck or to the Reinbeck Library.
Lucile was born June 5, 1907, in rural Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Harry N. and Ada (White) Wilhelm. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1925. After graduation, Lucile taught for three years in rural Grundy County Schools. On June 15, 1928, she was united in marriage to Raymond F. Weiss in Eldora, Iowa. After their marriage, they farmed in Grundy County, until 1951, when they moved to Reinbeck. Lucile's husband Raymond died on January 26, 1981.
Lucile was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck, and also a member of P.E.O. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and made many afghans and mittens for her family. Lucile loved birds and flowers, and also enjoyed painting.
She is survived by her daughter Ruth Ann Gooden and her husband Samuel of Dike, Iowa; her son Paul Weiss and his wife Kay of Reinbeck, Iowa; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond in 1981; one great-great grandson Damon Nelson; one sister Harriett Terrall; and one brother Eldon R. Wilhelm.
