Luana Luiken, 75, Steamboat Rock, died at Unity Point Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa on Thursday, December 11, 2014. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Steamboat Rock Baptist Church in Steamboat Rock, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Steamboat Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Steamboat Rock Baptist Church in Steamboat Rock, Iowa from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Luana, the daughter of Gregorio and Soledad (Morre) Oriarte was born October 29, 1939 San Pedro, CA. She graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic. Luana married Ronald Luiken on March 11, 1972 in Long Beach CA. The couple moved to Iowa in 1973. Luana was a devoted wife and mother. She was active in the Steamboat Rock Baptist Church. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bible study, traveling on many trips to California, riding their motorcycle and visiting with friends and family.
She is survived by he husband Ron of Steamboat Rock; two sons, David ( Laura) Luiken and Michael (Melanie) Luiken all of Sioux City, IA; nine grandchildren; nine great-grand children, father, Gregorio of Moss Landing CA, seven sisters,; five brothers and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her mother; brothers, Billy and Frankie and sister, Lexy.
