Louisa Reinicke

Louisa L. Reinicke, 93, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center, Iowa, from natural causes.

Louisa was born July 24, 1911, in Washington Township, rural Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of August and Tillie (Rewerts) Flater. On June 22, 1939, Louisa was united in marriage to Vernon Reinicke at the Salem Lutheran Church in rural Parkersburg, Iowa, by the Reverend William Paulsen. Louisa was a homemaker and also did bookwork for Vernon?s Appliance Shop.

Louisa was a founding and active member of the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center, teaching Sunday school for thirty-one years. She was also an active member of the community, and was involved with the Grundy County Historical Society. Louisa had also been an avid gardener.

She is survived by two sons: Pastor Verle A. Reinicke and his wife Linda of Bismarck, North Dakota; Lynn A. Reinicke and his wife January of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren: Scott and Julie Reinicke; Jeremy and Jennifer Reinicke and great-granddaughter: Abbey; Christopher and Marea Reinicke and great-grandson: Jaden; and Justin Reinicke; one brother: Arthur C. Flater of Grundy Center, Iowa; one sister: Leola M. Schmidt and her husband Carl of Grundy Center, Iowa; five sisters-in-law: Grace Flater, Wilma Meyer, Ruby Weber, Erma Lindaman, and Ann Reinicke; and one brother-in-law: Harold Reinicke and his wife Rita.

She was preceded in death by her parents: August and Tillie Flater; her husband: Vernon who died in 1996; two sisters: Minnie Arends and Alice Flater; and one brother: Alvin D. Flater.
