Lorraine Nederhoff

Lorraine B. Nederhoff, 83, of Eldora, died on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora while under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. Funeral services will be at 10:30 on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Eldora, Iowa with Pastor Mark Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Sheller Cemetery. Visitation is from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, June 3 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Online condolences may be posted at www.abelsfuneralhomes.com.
Lorraine was born January 7, 1930, the eldest daughter of Howard and Vera (Hanawalt) Cuffel. She was born in Shell Rock, Iowa and lived there until 1937. Her family moved to Cedar falls for a short time and then to Iowa Falls. They then moved to Conrad in 1941. Lorraine graduated from Conrad High School in 1946. She worked at Citizens State Bank in Iowa Falls until 1950 and also worked at the Korner Kupboard in Eldora for several years.
On November 10, 1949 she was united in marriage to Henry O. Nederhoff, moving to a farm south of Wellsburg, Iowa. To this union were born three children, Ronald, James and Janet.
Lorraine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldora and faithfully taught Sunday School for many years.
Surviving is Lorraine's husband, Henry; son, Jim of Eldora; daughter, Janet of Eldora; brother, Jerry (Jan) Cuffel of Colorado; sisters, Sharon (Jim) Kruse of Grundy Center, Bonnie (Harland) Rust of Grundy Center, and Margie (Don) Schmoll of Cedar Falls; daughter-in-law, Elaine Nederhoff of Adel, Iowa; and 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; eldest son, Ron; and brother, Howard Dean Cuffel.
