Lorna Bieber

Lorna (Jensen) Bieber passed away on December 19, 2020, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, in Grundy Center. Private graveside services will be held at the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Black Hawk County, Iowa. No public services will be held at this time and a Celebration of Life is planned this upcoming summer.  The Abels Funeral & Cremation Service-French-Hand Chapel is caring for Lorna and her family.

Lorna was born April 11, 1928 to Dave and Pauline Wrage. She grew up on the family farm in rural Lincoln, Iowa.

Lorna married Otto Jensen on March 19, 1947. They made their home in Voorhies, Iowa. They enjoyed fishing, raising chickens and vegetable gardening. Otto passed away in 1980 after 33 years of marriage.

On September 10, 1983 Lorna married Roger Bieber and they moved to Reinbeck, Iowa. Roger brought airplanes and traveling the country to Lorna’s life, including a trip to a Denver Broncos game. Roger passed away in 2006.

Lorna starting cleaning houses at age 18, working for many local families. She became friends with these families, not only cleaning, but baking, painting, babysitting and creating lifelong friendships. She retired at the age of 70.

Lorna loved birdwatching, flower gardens, baking and her weekly trip to the casino, where she was very lucky. She also loved dogs, as long as they didn’t live at her house.  Most of all she loved her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They always brought a smile to her face.

Lorna is survived by her daughter Jeanie (Ron) Larson Reinbeck, IA; granddaughter Abby (Craig) Kolthoff of Fredericksburg, IA; grandson Adam Larson of St. Peter, MN; great-grandchildren  Ryder & Rustyn Hanna, Raelynn & Rylee Kolthoff, Ellie & Isla Larson; step- daughter Shirley (Art) Losher of Chillicothe, IL and step-son Tom (Penny) Bieber Weston, CO; step-grandchildren  Aaron Bieber, Amy Greer, Dale Losher; Sisters  Marcella Goos, LaRue Brandemuehl and brother  Lyle (Marlys) Wrage; sister-in-law  Norma Wrage; many nieces & nephews.

Lorna was preceded in death by her parents Dave & Pauline Wrage; husbands Otto Jensen and Roger Bieber; daughters Connie Pauline and Joyce Ann; siblings Arvella Rogers, Marlys Siemens, Arlo Wrage, Leon Wrage, Roger Wrage; stepson Robert Bieber. Many brother and sister in-laws. Honorary Pallbearers are Lonn Koch, Langley Ray Jensen, Kirby Goos, Jim Siemens, Dale Rogers, and Jeff Wrage.
