Lonnie Rae Greve, 57 of Gladbrook, Iowa, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa after a year and a half battle with cancer. Lonnie Rae Greve was born November 29, 1949 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of John Gerald and Mildred Louise (Holmes) Diehm. Lonnie was raised in Waterloo thru high school. She graduated from West High School in 1968 and then attended Pitzie School of Cosmetology, graduating in 1969. On September 12, 1970 she was united in marriage to Roger Lee Greve at the Grace Methodist Church in Waterloo, Iowa. After her marriage to Roger they resided on a farm in rural Gladbrook, Iowa. She worked as a cosmetologist at her own shop, an office manager at Hi-Tech Communications, a photographer at Herff Jones and Sears, and lastly she worked for Dillard's Department store but left due to her illness. She was a member of the Amity Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Roger, son Eric and his wife Cindy Greve of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and two daughters: Nicole Greve - Clayton of McCallsburg, Iowa, and Robin Greve and her boyfriend Matt Moore of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 9 granddogs and 2 grandcats; a mother: Mildred Diehm of Waterloo, Iowa; a sister: Missy and her husband Jack Stabenow of Waterloo, Iowa; a brother: Curt and his wife Nancy Diehm of Dubuque, Iowa; a sister: Sharron and her husband Marty Krebs of Camarillo, California; a mother in law: Marrietta Greve of Reinbeck, Iowa; and 3 nieces and 5 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father John Diehm; maternal grandparents: Owen "Slim" and Pauline Holmes; paternal grandparents: Fred and Clara Diehm; and a father in law: Lester Greve.
