Lola Petersen

April 15, 1921 — September 8, 2005

Lola A. Petersen, 84, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Thursday, September 8, 2005, at her home in Reinbeck, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 12, 2005, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reinbeck, with Pastor Bruce Boyce officiating. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck City Cemetery in Reinbeck. Visitation will be Sunday, September 11, 2005 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck with family present to greet family and friends. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.



Lola was born April 15, 1921 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the daughter of Johannes Heinrich and Anna (Thiel) Frier. Lola was raised and educated in Reinbeck and graduated from Reinbeck High School. On March 22, 1941, Lola was united in marriage to Donald C. Petersen in Reinbeck. The couple made their home in Reinbeck where she was a homemaker and mother to four children. Her husband, Donald, passed away on February 4, 1980. Lola was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and S.O.S. (Seniors Over Sixty).



She is survived by her two sons, John and his wife Carol Denice Petersen of Reinbeck, Iowa; and Michael and his wife Carol Ann Petersen, of Reinbeck, Iowa; two daughters Karol Kay Storjohann of Reinbeck, Iowa; and Patricia and her husband Thomas Michael Blakemore of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Petersen; her parents, Johannes and Anna Frier; a son-in-law Dale A. Storjohann; a granddaughter Teresa Lyn Petersen; five brothers, Ralph, Henry, Carl, Fritz, and Ernest Frier; and two sisters, Martha Paustian, and Frieda Bern.
