Lola Marianne Kulow, age 90 of Belle Plaine, MN formerly of Eldora, IA, died on April 20, 2012 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, IA. Rev. David Splett will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday morning. Interment will be in Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Eldora. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of the arrangements.
Lola was born on November 4, 1921 to Elmer and Lydia (Firnhaber) Schnebel. She grew up in Farnhamville, IA and later moved to Peotone, IL. She attended Valparaiso University in Indiana and Drake University in Iowa. Lola taught at a Lutheran elementary school in Omaha, Nebraska for several years. She returned to Iowa and continued in her music career. She met Harold Kulow and they were married in Farnhamville, Iowa on June 19, 1954. The couple settled in Hubbard, IA and later moved to Eldora where they made their home for over 40 years. She was active in St. Paul Lutheran Church where she played pipe organ, taught confirmation, Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Cecilians and served as an accompanist for several public school events and contests. Lola is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Kulow, and brother Charles Schnebel.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Kulow of Peachtree City, GA,

Tamara Kulow of Fairfield, IA,
Grandson, Sterling Nazario,
Sister in law, Joy Schnebel of Laguna Niguel, CA,
Many Nieces and Nephews.
