Lois Lavonne Jensen, 73, passed away December 4, 2017 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 7, from 4-7 PM at French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family to be donated at a later time. French-Hand Funeral Home is taking care of Lois and her family.
Lois was born on March 14, 1944 to her parents Earl and Nellie (Sorrell) Willyard in Cecilia, Kentucky. Lois attended school in Kentucky and later moved to Chicago, IL. Lois was united in marriage to James Jensen on March 27, 1964 in Chicago. Lois and James eventually moved to rural Reinbeck. Lois was employed as a waitress at the Morris Inn and also owned Jim’s in Morrison, working with her husband. Lois enjoyed spending her time reading, baking pies, listening to older country music, and watching Jeopardy, The Food Network, and HGTV. Lois enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and especially her grandchildren. Lois was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Traer.
Lois is survived by her children Jim (Tracy) Jensen of West Des Moines, Jo (Brian) Sienknecht of Traer, Lori (Jeff) Hoeg of Traer, Mike (Dana) Jensen of Glendale, AZ; sisters Evelyn Winniger of Reinbeck and Karen Livingston of Indiana; 8 grandchildren Nicole & Conal Jensen, Samm & Clayton Sienknecht, Aidan & Cameron Hoeg, and Ashlyn & Aubrey Jensen. Lois is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
