Linda Jo Weber, 56, of Grundy Center died from natural causes on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Following cremation, a memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center with Father Dennis Quint officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Grundy Center. Linda's family will greet friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center with prayer services beginning at 5:00 pm.
Linda was born December 13, 1949 in Grundy Center, daughter of Joseph William and Bonnie Darlene (Gibson) Hulne. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1968. On February 15, 1969 she was married to Steven Anthony Weber and they later divorced. Linda lived the majority of her life in Grundy Center and had worked for Richelieu Foods Inc. for 30 years. She enjoyed cooking, was known for her potato salad, and her pride and joy came from her seven grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Angela Weber of Waterloo, Michael Weber of Grundy Center and Jennifer Weber of Des Moines; her seven grandchildren, Miranda and Quinn Buseman, Craig Stovall III and Allyssa Stovall, and Megan, Hayley and Tristan Weber; sisters, Pam (Tim) Schmidt of Grundy Center and Pat (Charlie) Roth of Grundy Center; brothers, Jim (Paulette Trewin) Hulne of New Hampton, Joe (Sue) Hulne of Altoona, Jerry (Marge) Hulne of Cross Plains, Wisconsin, and Jeff Hulne of Grundy Center. Preceding her in death were her parents.
