Lillian DesMarias, 99, of Chillicothe, Missouri, currently residing in the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center, Iowa, died Saturday, November 24, 2012. She was born in Grundy Center on August 7, 1913 to John Cowie DesMarias and Maud Lillian (Bayless) DesMarias. She graduated from Grundy Center High School with the class of 1931 and from the University of Iowa and the University of Denver. She worked until retirement as a librarian.
She was preceded in death by her sister Varina DesMarias. Private graveside services will be conducted at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Grundy Center Community School Foundation, 1301 12th Street, Grundy Center, Iowa 50638 or to the Livingston County Library, 450 Locust Street, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
