Leonard L. Brumbaugh, 77, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa while under the care of Allen Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, April June 28, 2013, at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck, Iowa, with Rev. Joel Love officiating. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery in Reinbeck. Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Leonard Leo Brumbaugh was born on June 2, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Jacob and Erma (Sell) Brumbaugh. Leonard grew up in Reinbeck area and graduated from Reinbeck High School with the class of 1954. Leonard served his country in the U.S. Navy from February 24, 1955 till February 23, 1959. He then reenlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving from May 20, 1959 till March 21, 1961. Shortly after his discharge he started working at John Deere where he worked for 30 years.
Leonard enjoyed hunting, attending Air Shows, attending NASCAR Races and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and friends
Leonard is survived by his brother, Glenn (Marion) Brumbaugh of Reinbeck; his sisters, Jolene Potter of Arizona, and Deb (Jeff) Creswell of California; five nephews, Greg Potter, Craig Brumbaugh, Kevin Brumbaugh, Scott Creswell and Steven Creswell; and special friend, Ann Borchers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece.
