Leona Heath, (90) of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away on July 10th, 2016, under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 12th, 2016, at the Fairveiw cemetery in Denver, Iowa. Memorial contributions can be made to the family to be designated at a later date. Leona Schweer was born to Herman and Minnie (Redies) Schweer on May 8th, 1926. She was raised and educated in the Bremer Township, attending a country school. On February 3rd, 1946, Leona and Dale M. Heath were united in marriage at the St. John's Lutheran Church of Crane Creek, Iowa (Tripoli, Iowa). Together the family settled in Tripoli, Iowa, until the birth of their first child. The family then relocated to Denver, Iowa, where they would raise their family. On January 15th, 2012, Dale passed away. Leona was a homemaker who enjoyed cleaning, sewing, gardening, fishing, hunting, helping others and spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Dennis (Sandy) Heath of Texas, Debra L. Heath of Eldora, siblings; Arlene Bunger of Humbolt, Iowa, Larry Schweer of Tripoli, Iowa, 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In death, Leona rejoins her parents; Herman and Minnie Schweer, husband; Dale Heath, daughter; Evonne Bentley, siblings; Gertrude Bushrow, Alfred Schweer and Donald Schweer.
