Leo Lester Keilholtz, 85, of Grundy Center, Iowa formerly of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Thursday, October 23, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, of natural causes. Private family Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Leo was born December 18, 1922 in Volga, Iowa, the son of Lester and Carrie (Larson) Keilholtz. Leo was raised in the Volga area and received his education from Volga High School. He served his country in the United States Army for four years. On March 16, 1946, Leo was united in marriage to Frances Hickson in Elkader, Iowa. Leo was a truck driver all his life. He was a life member of American Legion Action Post #242 in Reinbeck. Leo loved to spend time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Frances of Grundy Center; son, Leslie (Ruthann)Keilholtz of Waterloo; daughters, Lois(Dennis) Iversen of Macomb, IL; Sharon Freerks of Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandchildren; 7 great - grandchildren; sisters, April Clute and Wanda Bristow. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Loretta Chappell; and one brother, Forrest Keilholtz.
