Leland Dean Conradi, 86, of Grundy Center, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Unity Point Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7th at 2:00 P.M. at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, 509 4th Street, Grundy Center, IA. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery in rural Holland. Leland was born on June 12, 1928 in rural Holland, Iowa, the son of John Arthur & Anna (Meyer) Conradi. His family later relocated to Dike where Leland attended school, graduating from Dike High School with the class of 1947. From 1951 to 1953, Leland honorably served his country in the United States Army. After his discharge from the military, Leland worked for Rath Packing in Waterloo, retiring after 32 years of service.
Leland was a former member of the New Hope Fellowship Church in Holland.
He is survived by his brother Darius (Joan) Conradi of Waverly, IA & sister Colleen Graham of St. Louis, MO; several nieces and nephews. Leland was preceded in death by his parents; brother Roland Conradi and infant sister Phyllis Conradi.
