Leillia Marie Zeeb, 86, of Iowa Falls, formerly of Eldora, passed away on Tuesday, June 5th, 2012 at the Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls while under the care of Hospice of North Iowa. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012, 10:30 A.M. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastor David Splett officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow funeral services at the Eldora City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Leillia was born on August 1, 1925 in Auburn, Nebraska, the daughter of Jay & Irma (Rhinehart) Burns. Leillia was one of 12 children, growing up in Auburn where she graduated from high school in 1943. On February 25, 1947, Leillia was united in marriage to William Zeeb in Papillion, Nebraska. The couple moved to Ralston, NE and then to Union, Iowa, later settling in Eldora. Leillia and William welcomed two daughters, Imogene & Gloria into their family. In 2000, Leillia & William moved to Iowa Falls where the couple became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora and was a member of the New Dimensions in Eldora. Leillia loved cooking, gardening and canning foods, she loved to read, sing and she especially loved children. She was a devoted wife, mother and was a very selfless person, always putting her family first. She will be missed by all who knew and love her.
Leillia is survived by her daughters Imogene "Jean" (Laurence) Neubauer of Alden and Gloria (Vance) Jorgensen of Iowa Falls; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; siblings Mary Maake of Tucson, AZ, Verda Lorimor of Green Bay, WI and Betty Burns-Harms, Calvin Burns and Charles Burns, all of Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband William who passed away on June 30, 2010; her parents Jay & Irma; brothers William, Gale, James, Phillip & Melvin Burns and sister Emma Burns Gill.
