Lee J. Donnellan, 73, of Eldora, formerly of Des Moines, died on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora. His body has been gifted to the University Hospitals and Clinic for scientific research and no services are planned. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is charge of the arrangements.
Son of Jake and Marie (Doane) Donnellan, Lee was born July 6, 1938 in Waverly, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Nevada, Iowa where he graduated with the class of 1957. Lee then attended Drake University in Des Moines where he received his degree in Fine Arts and Art. He worked as an elementary art teacher in Pella for some time, and then moved to Des Moines where he worked for Boesen's Flower Shop on Ingersoll Ave., retiring in July of 2003. Lee moved to Eldora in the fall of 2011.
He is survived by his brother, Steve Donnellan and his wife Sue; by niece, Sara; and nephew, Christopher; all of Muncie, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents. Lee will be greatly missed by his family and friends. "Peace and Love", Lee.
