Leah N. Creswell, 88, of Spirit Lake, Iowa formerly of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday January 21, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck. Pastor Dave Nolte will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 pm with the family greeting friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at the French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. Memorials may be directed to the Reinbeck Public Library.
Leah was born December 22, 1917 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota the daughter of Abram C. and Natalie L. (Theeler) Cool. She graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1935 and from Gates Business College in Waterloo in 1936. She worked in Washington D.C. in the War Department prior to her marriage. She was united in marriage to Roger Creswell on August 28, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa. The couple made their home in Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois, before returning to a farm north of Morrison, Iowa in 1965 where they farmed until 1972. In 1972 they moved to Reinbeck. Leah worked as a secretary to the principal in the Reinbeck High School for many years. She also worked as an office manager for Dr. Storjohann in Reinbeck. After Roger?s death in 2003, she moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa. Leah was a member of the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck.
Survivors include three sons: Willard Roger Creswell and his wife Deb of Roscoe, Illinois, Jeffrey Alan Creswell and his wife Debbie of Crestline, California, and James Lee Creswell of Reinbeck, Iowa; two daughters: Judith Ann Jensen and her husband Kirk of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Janice Kay Moore and her husband Kelly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 16 grandchildren: Dave, Ben, Leah, Ty, Ross, Patty, Scott, Steven, Ryan, Rachael, Austin, Adam, Emily, Megan, Kristin, and Kevin: and three great grandchildren: Konnor, Jakob, and Reese; one sister: Doris Tharp of Waverly, Iowa.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband: Roger; son: David Merle Creswell in 1953; a sister: Norma Rohlk; two brothers: Willard and Clifford Cool.
