Larry Lee Sager, age 88, passed away on January 9, 2025, at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, Iowa. Born on July 30, 1936, in Reinbeck, to Nelson and Lenora (Hoeg) Sager, Larry dedicated the majority of his professional life to manufacturing, working at John Deere for 27 years. His commitment and work ethic were evidence of his strong character and dedication.
Larry proudly served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. This period of service was a testament to his patriotism and sense of duty, traits that remained with him throughout his life.
Family was paramount to Larry, as he cherished the time spent with loved ones, particularly during the holidays. He found joy in simple pleasures such as hunting, fishing, gardening, and, notably, woodworking, a hobby that allowed him to express his creativity and craftsmanship.
Larry is survived by his two sons, Roger Sager and his wife Brenda, and Ronald Sager. He is also remembered by his brother James N. Sager, and sisters Judith Hemmes, Karen Johnson, and Patricia Finley, along with brother William Sager. Larry's legacy continues through his seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Jo Ann Sager, as well as his parents, Nelson and Lenora Sager, and his daughter, Vanessa Paris.
The services honoring Larry's life will be held on January 14, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Church in Dike, Iowa. A visitation is scheduled from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM, followed by a funeral service starting at 10:30 AM. Following the funeral service, a luncheon for family and friends will be held at the church. Interment will take place at Washington Township in Morrison at 1:30 PM.
Larry Lee Sager will be remembered for his devotion to family, his industrious spirit, and the simple joys of life that he so relished. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
