Kent Beiner

November 3, 1956 — February 2, 2017

Kent D. Beiner, 60, of Dike, Iowa graduated to eternal life on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo, Iowa. Kent Dee Beiner, son of William and Dixie Trees Beiner was born to this life on November 3, 1956 in Cresco, Iowa. He would say his greatest achievement was raising his beautiful daughter, Brandy Anne Beiner Schott. Kent married the love of his life, Ruth Moore, on May 9, 2004. He worked for John Deere Inc. for nearly 35 years before retiring in March of 2014. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS, took away his employment and many of his favorite activities. It eventually took his life but while he lived with the disease, he did so with amazing grace and dignity. In this life he loved golf and music and was himself an accomplished pianist. He was also an accomplished woodworker, leaving some beautiful pieces to be enjoyed by future generations. Above all Kent treasured his faith in God, his family and he loved his grandchildren!

Left to mourn him are his wife Ruth Moore of Dike, IA; daughter, Brandy (Wade) Schott of West Union, IA; grandchildren, Kenton, Layla and Bowen; stepdaughter, Rubyana (Matt) Neely of Windsor Heights, IA; stepson, Joben (Elise) Grimmius of Chicago, IL; his parents, William and Dixie Beiner of Waverly, IA; brothers, Mark (Nanette) Beiner of Cedar Rapids, IA. and Tim (Chlora) Beiner of Stronghurst, IL; sisters, Marie (Mike) Lewis of Overland Park, KS. and May (Lonnie) Richardson of Raymond, IA; and many nieces, nephews and friends will also remember Kent Beiner with love.

A celebration of Kent's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Engelkes-Abels Dike Funeral Chapel in Dike, Iowa. There will be no visitation. Burial will be held at a later date at Rosehill Cemetery in Grundy Center, Iowa. Engelkes-Abels Dike Funeral Chapel in Dike is caring for Kent and his family.
