Kendall Lee Buskohl was born on June 19, 1953 in Grundy Center, IA, son of Harvey and Lois (Rademaker) Buskohl. Kendall was raised by his aunt and uncle, Bill and Carrie Bergman on a farm near Dike. He attended school at Dike and graduated in 1971. On April 7, 1973, Kendall was united in marriage to Janice Hickey in Dike. Kendall worked for a local body shop and then managed the operations at Grover Hog Farms. Kendall began farming and raising livestock full time near Dike in the late 1980?s. Later, he began operating a cow-calf operation near Albia, IA.
Kendall truly loved spending time around children, especially his grandchildren. Kendall enjoyed watching his son?s career as a wrestler and he also operated the time clock for many years at the local wrestling matches. Kendall was also a member of the chain gang at high school football games. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, especially on his trips to Lake Rathbun near Albia and Longville, MN. Kendall loved horseback riding, and rounding up cows at the Albia farm. Kendall and family enjoyed their yearly trips to Minnesota with the Minnesota Cabin Crew. Kendall truly loved to work, and he loved his trips to Albia to check on the cattle.
Kendall was a longtime member of the Dike United Methodist Church. He also served for many years on the ASCS Board.
Surviving relatives include his wife, January Buskohl of Dike; one daughter, Shannon (Tom) Textor of Ankeny, IA; one son, Matt (Amie) Buskohl of Dike; his parents, Lois Buskohl of Grundy Center, Bill and Carrie Bergman of Dike; two sisters, Diane Adair of Grundy Center, Verdel Langland of Florida; three grandchildren, Wilson Textor, Cayden and Madalynn Buskohl; many nieces and nephews.
Kendall was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Buskohl; nephew, Mark Arends.
