Judy Ann (Van Hauen) Crosser, 68, of Grundy Center, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at her home in Grundy Center. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012, 10:30 A.M. at the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center, Iowa with Pastor John Sievers officiating. Burial will follow funeral services at the Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family. Judy was born on January 27, 1944 in Wellsburg, IA, the daughter of Richard and Dorothy (Johnson) Neessen. She was raised in Wellsburg where she attended school. On October 6, 1963, Judy was united in marriage to Raymond Joe Van Hauen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home in Grundy Center. Raymond died on January 28, 1983. On September 12, 1992, Judy was united in marriage to Warren LaVerne Crosser in Eldora, Iowa. The couple made their home in Eldora. Warren died March 3, 2004. She then moved back to Grundy Center.
Judy was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center. Judy was a homemaker and caregiver to her family till they grew up. She later worked at Grundy Center Community schools and Harmony House in Waterloo. Most importantly, she had a love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by children; Jon Van Hauen (Tonya) of Parkersburg, Allen Van Hauen of Aplington, Tana (Jay) Pieters of Waverly, Chad (Elizabeth) Van Hauen of Strawberry Point and Nanci Henningsen of Grundy Center; 12 grandchildren; siblings, LuRay (Pat) Neessen of Holland, Jim (Shirley) Neessen of Grundy Center, Ramona Starn of Marshalltown, Mike (Connie) Neessen of Beaconsfield, Debra (Reggie) Jaynes of Washington State and Sharon Oelmann of Ackley.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Raymond and Warren.
