Juanita Leona Wallace, 84, of Eldora, Iowa died from natural causes on Thursday, November 03, 2005 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, November 7, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Eldora,with Dr. Richard Houg officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldora City Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Eldora.
Juanita was born December 10, 1920, near Bee Branch, Arkansas, daughter of John Barnum and Euda Love (Younger) Canady. She was raised near Bee Branch and on April 12, 1941 was united in marriage to Floyd Wayne Wallace in Damascus, Arkansas. She and Floyd moved with their family to New Providence, Iowa in July of 1955 and have resided in Hardin County since that time. She worked for a short time for Dodger Industries in Eldora during the 1970s. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing clothing for her grandchildren and family members. Jaunita also taught adult education tailoring classes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldora.
She is survived by her husband Floyd; daughters, Wanda Wubben of Johnston, Iowa and Glynda Wooten of Marion, Iowa; son, David (Shellie) Wallace of Aubrey, Texas; grandchildren, Brian (Cindy) Wubben of Clive, Iowa, Scott Wubben of Indianola, Byron (Kelly) Wooten of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Amanda (Sean) Byerly of Aurora, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Mason and Payton Wubben and Trenton and Damianna Byerly; sister Ruby Hopper of Damascus, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elois, Edwin, Dewil, and Ardell Canady; and sister, Loretta Cronin.
