Josephine Jensen, 98, of Voorhies, Iowa, died Thursday, August 18, 2011, at New Aldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hudson, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Lincoln Township. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. Memorials may be directed to the family. Josephine was born August 5, 1913 in Chleny Czechoslovakia to her parents Adolph and Bozena Filka. She was seven years old when she moved to the United States to live with her aunt and uncle in Tama County, Iowa. She attended the Baker Grove School in Tama County. Josephine was united in marriage to E. Langley Jensen on September 22, 1939 in St. Paul, MN. They made their home in Voorhies in Black Hawk County.
Josephine was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and worked for several years at the Orries Supper Club. She loved to garden, fish, bake and her true joy came from spending time with her family.
Josephine is survived by her children Ramona Bartos, Langley and Ernie (Kris) Jensen; her brother Charlie (Gladys) Bartos; many nieces and nephews and several sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband E. Langley; brother Freddie Bartos and several brothers-in-law.
