Jennie Doolaard

Jennie Doolaard, 74, of Rural Steamboat Rock, Iowa, died from natural causes on Friday, October 20, 2006, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, on Monday, October 23 at the First Christian Reformed Church, rural Wellsburg, Iowa with Pastor Thomas Vos officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 4 pm to 6pm on Sunday at Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg.
Jennie was born July 13, 1932 at the family farm near Steamboat Rock, daughter of Cornelius and Grietje (Eertmoed) Doolaard. She graduated from Steamboat Rock High School in 1950 then attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. She researched abstracts for several abstract companies in the area but most recently for Ruppelt Abstract Company in Grundy Center. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Jennie enjoyed baking, growing flowers and vegetables, reading, and traveling.
Surviving is her brother, Cornelius "CJ" Doolaard and his wife Maybelle of Eldora; brother-in-law, Elmer Heetland of Iowa Falls; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Nellie Heetland and Anna Doolaard.
