Jeffrey Lee Schwandt, 54, of Eldora, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls, IA.
Following cremation a Memorial Service will be held from 10:30 A.M., Friday, October 19, 2012, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eldora, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. A trust has been set up at Great Western Bank in Eldora, IA.
Jeffrey was born May 28, 1958 in Webster City, Iowa, to his parents Richard and Jean (Johnson) Schwandt. On April 12, 2008, Jeff was united in marriage to Denise Leytham at Honey Creek Friends Church in New Providence. Jeff worked for Quality Products in Eldora for a number of years and was working at EPI as a machine operator at the time of his death. He enjoyed camping, working on cars, remodeling his home, playing practical jokes on his family and grilling. Jeff loved spending time with his children. His work was his life and his big heart was there to help any one.
He is survived by his wife, Denise of Eldora; his mother, Jean Schwandt of Webster City; his children, Amy (Pete) Lepley of Eldora, Heather (Kurt) Estes of Nevada, John (Ali) Helton of Ames, Austin Hutchins, Catie Leytham, Trent Schwandt all of Eldora, Teisha (Paul) Hazelwood of Iowa Falls and Ben Kitner of Missouri; sisters and brothers, Stephen (Gloria) Schwandt of Webster City, Diana ( Mike) Walterman of Williams, Doug (Robin) Schwandt of Mt. Ayr and Elaine (Jayson) Risius of Webster City; grandchildren, Ryan, Kelsey, Cody, John, Brooklyn, Logan, Brittany and Ian.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; brothers, Leslie Gene, Leslie Lloyd; sister-in-law, Dawn Schwandt and nephew, Heath Schwandt.
