Jeanne Raab, 90, of Grundy Center, died at Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Long Term Care, on August 9, 2014. Jeanne was born May 30, 1924 to Frank and Emma (Dirks) Weseman in Grundy Center, Iowa.
Jeanne grew up on a farm, the oldest of 5 children. Being the oldest often put her in the role of caretaker for the younger ones. This role helped her become a great cook and baker. Her family remembers her meatloaf and they couldn't wait for her chocolate chip cookies. She loved her family with all her heart, and loved spending time with them. Jeanne married Henry Raab on June 1, 1949. Jeanne continued her role as caretaker becoming a Certified Nurses Aide, and working at the local hospital and long term care facility. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed living with and caring for her mother for many years. Her family and friends remember her as the sweetest lady you could ever know.
