Jean F. Kahr, 73, of Eldora, Iowa died Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Valley View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Eldora. Private family services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
Jean Faye Pearce, daughter of Charles and Ivene (McKay) Pearce was born March 20, 1942 in Eldora, Iowa. She received her education from the Eldora Community Schools. In 1958, she married Curtis D. Goodell in Eldora. To this union, Roger, James, Randy, Gary and Deb were born. The couple later divorced. In 1974, Jean married John Kahr in Eldora. Jean and her family resided in several communities including, Shell Rock, Clarksville, Reinbeck, Grundy Center, Alexander, Dike, Ackley and Eldora. She worked for several years in housekeeping for the Eldora Hospital and Valley View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Eldora. Jean and John later divorced. She enjoyed word puzzles, loved cats and enjoyed her congregational bible study group.
Survivors include her children, Roger (Evelyn) Goodell of Hampton, James (Becky) Goodell of Marshalltown, Randy Goodell of Belmond, Gary Goodell of Fayette, Deb (Alan) Findling of Waterloo; brother, Jerry Pearce of Iowa Falls; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
