Jared Risius

Jared Lynn Risius, 35, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. A celebration of Jared’s life will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Pine Lake Country Club from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held privately by the family at the Eldora City Cemetery. Jared was born on March 15, 1986, to his parents Jeff and Deborah. He graduated from the Eldora New Providence High School in the Class of 2004. After high school Jared began his career as a chef. He worked at a variety of restaurants, Perkins, Legends, Hickory Park, and The Village Inn, to name a few. He welcomed his daughter Laine Harper Risius into his family on February 22, 2017. She was the love of his life and he was very proud to be her Dad.

Jared enjoyed Frisbee golf, golf, fishing, motorcycles and fast cars, especially fast European cars! He loved all kinds of music, tinkering, woodworking and generally fixing anything he could get his hands upon. He really enjoyed landscaping, mechanical antiques, but what his family remembers most about Jared was his kind spirit. He genuinely enjoyed people and getting to know people. He would also help anyone in need. Whether it was a family member or helping strangers he just met change a tire. He wanted nothing from anyone and gave all of himself every moment he was able. Jared will be missed and long remembered by all who knew him.

Jared is survived by his mother Deborah (Jerry) Long; father Jeff (Michele) Risius; daughter Laine Harper Risius; brothers Jeremy (Vickie) Kies, Jon (Jessica) Kies, and Joel (Ashley) Risius; 12 nieces and nephews; 9 grandnieces and grandnephews; grandmother Coleen Risius; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents William Risius, and Donald and Maxine Green.
