James Rohweder

James Erwin Rohweder, 68, of Grundy Center, passed away on Sunday, December 18th, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, near his favorite place, Kinnick Stadium. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21st from 4 to 7 PM at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 22nd at 10:30 AM at the Salem Church of Lincoln in Lincoln, Iowa, preceded by one hour of visitation. Per Jim's wishes, the committal service will immediately follow the service and will be private. Memorials may be directed to the family, where they will donate to a charity of their choice at a later date.

Jim was born on November 10th, 1948, in Marshalltown, IA, to Erwin & Alice (Storjohann) Rohweder. He was raised on the family farm between Lincoln and Gladbrook, graduating with the class of 1966. Following high school, Jim attended the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1970 with an accounting degree. He joined the firm of Blythe, Mosebach & Fallis as an accountant and later becoming a partner.

He was an avid sports fan of softball, baseball, football and basketball. He especially loved golf and playing cards. His favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Jim was a member of the Salem Church of Lincoln, the I-Club, Town & Country Golf Course in Grundy Center, Jaycees, and member of professional organizations. He was a friend to many, often helping and giving assistance without recognition.

Jim is survived by his sister, Dorothy, and her husband, Roger, of Grinnell, IA, plus a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
