Jacob Chad Johnson, 23, of Des Moines died on Monday, August 22, 2016. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Boman Funeral Home in Webster City. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Webster City Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home to care for their needs.
Jacob was born on February 13, 1993, in Webster City to his parents Chad & Libbie (Tague) Johnson. He attended Webster City schools and graduated from the Webster City High School in the class of 2011. He then attended Iowa Central Community College where he earned his Associate of Science Degree. Jacob continued his education in Computer Science at Grandview College and Iowa State University.
He enjoyed his membership at his local health club. Jacob spent many nights gaming with his family. He loved hunting and fishing. He was also an excellent mushroom hunter, and would often bring home buckets full of mushrooms after a day spent hunting. Jacob had a special relationship with his niece Ellie Jo and treasured the time he was able to help care for her. What he loved most in life was his family.
He is survived by his mom Libbie Tague of Des Moines; his dad Chad (Lacie) Johnson of Jewell; his sisters Sarah Johnson and Emma Johnson (and her children Ellie Jo and Johnathan); his grandparents Dan and Diane Tague, and Joyce Johnson; three step-brothers Nolan, Isaac and Aven. He was preceded in death by his Papa Johnson.
