Ivene F. Pearce, age 90, of Eldora, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Valley View Nursing & Rehab Center in Eldora, while under Care Initiatives Hospice. Visitation will be held at Creps-Abels Funeral Home on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens.
Ivene was born on July 8, 1923 in Eldora, Iowa, the daughter of Ivan and Grace (Wilson) McKay. She was raised in Eldora and attended Eldora High School. Ivene was united in marriage to Charles Pearce on February 22, 1941 in Bethany, Missouri. Together they welcomed two children into their family.
Ivene worked as a cook for many restaurants in Eldora. She loved animals, especially cats & dogs and was an avid bird watcher. Her true joy in life came from spending time with her friends and family.
Ivene is survived by her children, Jean Kahr of Eldora and Jerry Pearce of Iowa Falls; 7 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles and 1 grandchild.
