Mr. Irvin L. Norman, 73, of Yadkinville, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his home. A committal service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 11:00 A.M. at the Eldora City Cemetery in Eldora. Funeral services were held earlier in North Carolina. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of arrangements.
He was born March 15, 1936 in Hardin County, Iowa to the late Clark and Lucille (Campbell) Norman. Mr. Norman was a retired contractor with the Carpenters Union in California and worked with Ozark Airlines in Iowa. He loved music and enjoyed playing and teaching how to play the Accordion. His grandchildren were the center of his life. He loved each of them and was always willing to help them in any way that he could.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife, Lula Cowell Norman.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Joyce Foster Norman; three children Shirley (Larry) Hall, Tyre L. (Susan) Norman and Theresa L. Norman; nine grandchildren Christina (Heath) Hunt, James (Cindy) Hall, Tyre Hall, Matthew Hall, Katrina Norman, Caitlin Norman, Travis Norman, Eric Norman and Heather Norman; four great-grandchildren Emmalea Hunt, Tyra Hall, Hannah Hall and Kalib Hall; two step-sons Robin Foster and Rodney Foster; step-grandchildren Bryan Foster, Melissa Foster, Jeremy Foster, Jordan Foster, Amy Foster and Emily Foster; two step-great-grandchildren Brody Foster and Madeline Foster.
