Irvin D. Kosanke, 86, of Eldora, died at his home on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Salem United Methodist Church in Hubbard with Pastor Rochelle Swenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldora City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Church on Monday from 9:30 am until service time at 10:30.
Irvin was born January 9, 1925 in Eldora, son of Emil and Lucy (Nassen) Kosanke. He lived his entire life on the family farm north-west of Eldora where he raised grain, livestock and dairy. He enjoyed attending antique power shows and helping out his neighbors whenever he could. Irvin was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church and very rarely missed Sunday School.
He is survived by a sister, Alice Kosanke of Salem, Arkansas; nephew, Jerilei Harms of Iowa Falls; and by a niece, Judy (Dan) Swesey of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys Harms; and a niece, Katy Lu Harms
