Irene Palmer

Irene Mae Palmer, Age 97, of Eldora, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. She was born on June 25, 1920 to Glen and Olga (Gunderson) Fagan. She attended grade school in Gifford and graduated from Union High School in 1937.
On February 18, 1939 she married Edwin Palmer, together they had two children. They spent their time farming in Hardin County. They later moved to Eldora in 1978. Irene enjoyed needlework, fishing, painting and traveling. In her recent years she enjoyed spending time with family and playing the piano.
She is survived by her son, Kay Palmer and his wife Ruth of Eldora; daughter Millie Dagit and her husband Bill of Eldora; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, her parents, a brother, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren.
Her life was celebrated at a private family service on September 6, 2017 with burial at the Eldora Cemetery.
