Irene Virginia Naumann, 89, of Eldora, Iowa, died on Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center while under the care of Iowa Hospice. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Eldora City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Irene was born on January 2, 1923 in Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Lela (Baasch) Heltibridle. She graduated from Grundy Center High School with the Class of 1941. Irene attended UNI for one year and then taught country school for two years. She then went to work for the Kresge office in Marshalltown for 12 years. Irene was united in marriage to Ed Naumann on June 9, 1960, together they enjoyed many years together until Ed's death in 1975. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Eldora.
Irene is survived by her sister-in-law Maris Byrnes of Grundy Center and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, brothers Dwight Heltibridle and Lyle Heltibridle and sisters Thelma McCall and Lola Callaway.
