Inez Deters

Inez G. Deters, 82, of Wellsburg, Iowa died from natural causes on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, February 16 at the First Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock, Iowa with Pastor Bruce Baillie officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Wellsburg. Visitation is from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday at Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg. Memorials may be directed to her family.





Inez Gertrude Deters was born July 16, 1927 in rural Wellsburg, daughter of Oldig O. and Ada (Dresselhuis) Nederhoff. She was educated in Pine Creek Country School and graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1946. On April 17, 1950 Inez was united in marriage to Rodney Ross Deters. They made their home near Wellsburg where they farmed and raised their family. Inez had seasonal and part-time employment with MDMeyer, worked at the Post Office and the Church doing janitorial work, the Eldora seed plant, and detasseling. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Steamboat Rock and found much enjoyment caring for her family, spending time with her grandchildren, working in the flower garden and yard, and cross-stitching.





Inez is survived by her husband, Rodney; sons, Terry (Rhonda) Deters of Wellsburg and Mitch Deters of Wellsburg; daughter, Tammy (Terry) Mount of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters, Ordie (Harold) Eekhoff of Wellsburg and Donna Blythe of Wellsburg; brother, Carl (Kate) Nederhoff of Wellsburg; sister-in-law, Florence Nederhoff; by ten grandchildren, Bill, Ben, Rhandi, Rhian, Cody, Jacob, Madison, Trent, Chad and Brendan; and by great-granddaughter, Isabella. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Jeffrey; sisters, Grace Luppen, Etta Heikens and Frances Primus; and brothers, Edward and Willis Nederhoff.
