Henry Wagner

February 23, 1932 — September 28, 2008

Henry J. “Hank” Wagner, 76, of Eldora, formerly Union, died from natural causes on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora while under the care of Hospice of North Iowa. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Sheller Cemetery (23060 E Ave., Eldora) with Hospice Chaplain Edward Bard officiating. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora.




Hank was born February 23, 1932 in Sheffield, Iowa, son of Pearl E. and Bertha L. (Kennedy) Wagner. On July 4, 1952 Hank was united in marriage to Ruby Miller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He lived the majority of his life in Hardin County residing in Union from 1980 until moving to the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center four years ago. He worked as a plumber and Electrician operating Wagner Electric for 10 years before retiring in the mid-1990s. Hank enjoyed cat-fishing on the Iowa River and took great pride in his flower and vegetable gardens.




He is survived by daughters, Edna King and her husband, James of Des Moines, Bette Wright and her husband, Steve of Eldora, and Nancy Mehus and her husband, Neal of Radcliffe; sister Phyllis Voll of Winterset; brother, Kenneth Wagner and his wife Shirley of Marshalltown; sister-in-law, Marianne Wagner of Liscomb; brother-in-law, Arthur Rosine of Webster City; and by 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby on June 12, 1997; by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Eilders and Wanda Rosine; and brother, Earl Wagner.
