Helen A. Kock, 94, of Conrad, formerly of Beaman, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad while under the care of Iowa Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 19th, 10:30 A.M. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in rural Reinbeck with Father David Kucera officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 18th from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center with a 7 P.M. scripture service. Interment will be held at Rosehill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family where they will donate to a charity of their choice at a later date. Helen was born on November 24, 1917 in Grundy Center, Iowa, the daughter of Frank & Alvina (Durbin) Kopsa. She was a lifelong resident of Grundy County. On May 6, 1939 Helen was united in marriage to LeRoy Kock in Grundy Center. The couple welcomed son Paul into their family. Helen's husband LeRoy farmed and Helen worked as a homemaker, living on the family farm north of Beaman for over 45 years.
She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Reinbeck and a former member of the Catholic Order of the Foresters.
Helen loved spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters Ashlee & Macy and watching and participating in all of their activities throughout their lives. She will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son Paul (Lynne) Kock of Beaman; 2 granddaughters Ashlee (Luke) Higgins of Beaman and Macy Kock of Beaman; sisters Marian Albright and Arlene (Irvin) Stumberg, both of Grundy Center; sister-in-law Diane Kopsa of Grundy Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband LeRoy; brothers Edward Samuel & Donald Kopsa and sister Verina Folkerts; brother-in-law Amos Albright.
